"How to Develop Firm Leaders and Leadership"
by Allan Koltin, President & CEO of PDI Global
Selection and development of your firm's future firm leaders is crucial - and very tricky. There are a lot of options - and lot of questions - involved, like:
- What is the best way to determine our next Managing Partner/Department Head/Niche Leader, etc?
- What is the advantage of using a "home grown" vs. "lateral" approach to filling a leadership role?
- Is professional management the way to go or is it better to promote a line partner?
- When might co-leaders make sense?
- How do you value leadership/management and compensate accordingly based upon results?
- What specific criteria questions do we need to ask to ensure a successful selection/transition?
Allan will walk through the process for selecting the right person for a leadership role, including helping you to determine what qualities and experience you really need, and exploring the varied options available. He'll also discuss the coaching and grooming process that begins after the selection as well as the final transition of responsibilities. |

"Working at the Crosshairs: How to Navigate Between Generations at Work "
Presented by Rebecca Ryan, 2EO of Next Generation Consulting
Sure, you're one of the firm's future leaders, but that really puts you in the middle, doesn't it? You've got to manage up - helping your partners envision the future of the firm - and you have to manage down - helping new hires and 20'somethings make their cultural assimilation to be productive on the job. This presentation will examine all generations within your firm, and the pain points that occur when generations collide. An interactive Q&A session will give participants a chance to voice their concerns - and obtain solutions - about how to work effectively at the crosshairs. |
